Pre-Wax Prep: How to Get Ready
To ensure the most comfortable experience and the cleanest finish, please follow these steps before your appoinment:
-
Length Matters: Hair should be about the size of a grain of rice (approx. 1/4 an inch). If you've been shaving, wait at least 2 weeks to schedule appointment.
-
Exfoliate: Gently exfoliate the area 24-48 hours prior to your visit to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores.
-
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water! Hydrated skin allows the hair to be removed more easily. *Avoid caffeine before your service.
-
Dress Comfortably: Wear loose-fitting clothing to your appointment to avoid irritation on freshly waxed skin.
-
Skip the Lotions: Arrive with clean skin free of heavy oils and creams, or make-up for facial waxing.
Aftercare: Keeping it Smooth
The first 24-48 hours post-wax are crucial for preventing irritation and ingrowns:
-
Hands Off: We know the results are amazing, but avoid touching freshly waxed skin to prevent bacteria from entering the follicles.
-
Cool & Calm: Avoid hot showers, hot tubs, saunas, heavy workouts, tanning, and sexual activity for at least 24 hours.
-
Exfoliation: Exfoliate 2-3 times per week to keep the skin free of buildup and clogged follicles. *Do not exfoliate the day of appointment.
-
Consistency is Key: Maintaining a 4-6 week waxing schedule thins out the hair, making the process even more painless, and results smoother over time.
-
Use Recommended Products: Use a lightweight, non-comedogenic oil or lotion daily to keep the skin supple. Use Ingrown Hair Serum to help prevents and treat ingrown hairs.
